AEGON NCL Play Offs this Saturday. Can Bromley make it six in a row
6th July 2009
Bromley LTC face the toughest of challenges against St George’s Hill in the AEGON National Club League tennis playoffs.
Win, and Bromley LTC will make the grand finals in Bournemouth for the sixth consecutive year, quite a record when NO other club in Kent has ever reached the finals.
We have all enjoyed Murray’s efforts at Wimbledon; this is a chance to see some of the British players who also played at the tournament.
Bromley’s line up will include four local lads, Nick Cavaday, Matt Illingworth, Sean Thornley and doubles expert Oliver Freelove, and of course Jamie Delgado who made the third round men’s doubles at Wimbledon knocking out the number thirteen seeds on the way.
Manager Charles Baylis is cautious about the team’s chances, as he pointed out “ St Georges Hill could turn up with a very strong team as their squad includes players of the calibre of Chris Eaton, but as always it is about who plays best on the day and we have a very good line up for the match”.
Play starts at Noon on Saturday 11th July at Sandford Road, Bromley. All spectators are welcome, and if you have been inspired by Murray to want to join a tennis club why not come and look round!
