Mixed fortunes for our Aegon Teams.....
4th May 2009
All four of our Aegon Teams were in play this weekend, from BLTC Men's National through to Boys 10&U Green Team
Here's how it went down......
Mens National kicked off with a 6-0 win, helped by Letchworth being down one player, our team didn't get troubled at this early stage. Wanting to ensure victory BLTC brought out 'hot form' Sean Thornley for the dubs...
Mens County lost out 4-2 to Sydenham in a doubles thriller! Despite being down 3-1 after the singles round Captain Martin Curzey tweaked his doubles line up; only to win one but lose out 11-9 in a match tie break that could have taken the fixture to a shoot out...
Ladies County also lost out 4-2 to Bromley Cricket. Reflecting the Men's team result, the Ladies went into the dubs 3-1 down but still with a chance thanks to Sue Grimwood's victory over BCC's no 2, rated 5.1! The BCC line up featuring Kent Captain Emily Brimson (4.1) proved just too strong and BLTC went down 4-2....
Monday saw our Boys Green Team in action (10 and under), go 2 from 2 ... !! With a win already under their belts, BLTC's 'Green Guys' came out looking hungry against a strong East Kent Academy Team.... With first round wins for all- BLTC were 3-0 up going into the second round. With BLTC strength prevailing again in the second round. our 'Green Guys' romped home 6-0- well done!
Everybody's in action again next week end- check out the fixtures calendar to see who's where and... Come and support- it makes the difference!
Watch for a 'Meet the players night'- coming soon
