Leagues
We currently operate both squash and racketball leagues. They run on approximately a monthly basis, promotion ( and relegation ! ) being based on the total of the points entered for that months games the scoring is available on the squash notice board ( e.g. 3 games to nil scores points 10 for the winner,3 for the loser ). The racketball/squash notice board is in the clubhouse lobby, inside the front door on the right-hand side. Go here for the current leagues: current racketball league
Competitions
We run two main competition periods, one during the spring ( April-May ) and one during the Autumn ( October-November ). Competitions held include mens and ladies squash singles; racketball singles; squash doubles; racketball doubles; squash age competitions ( 40+, 50+ ) and a squash handicap ( based loosely on league positions ). Watch the notice board for the entry forms for those you might wish to enter. Dates of playing rounds and finals nights are also on the notice board. Any suggestions for other events should be made to a committee member.
Squash & Racketball Committee
The contact numbers of all the committee members are posted on the notice board, please feel free to raise any topic with any committee member, suggestions are always welcome.
Team Racketball
At present, we don't enter a team into the inter-club leagues, but we are considering it for next winter ( 2003-2004 ).
Court Heating
The courts are heated by an overhead gas heating system controlled by timers and thermostats. It should be on and working during the evening throughout the winter season. Please do not interfere with the controls, but if there is a problem, please notify a committee member and we will rectify the problem asap.
Racketball Coaching
We have a Level II squash coach in the club. If you wish to learn to play racketball I'm sure they would be willing to help, and the more experienced racketball players are willing to play new people. For more details follow this link: Squash Coaching.
